Gay Marriage, What’s the Big Deal?

I honestly don’t understand the big deal about homosexual marriage. Personally, gay marriage has nothing to do with me, my life or my lifestyle. I won’t be affected whether they get married or not, so why should I or anyone else care if other people decide to do so?

If I had to vote, I’d vote for gay marriage. Shit, why not? What does marriage mean anyway (besides the lifetime commitment thing)? Living together? Paying bills together? Filing taxes together? What’s the difference between a marriage and a domestic partnership? The only thing I could think of is the religious aspect of it, but I’m not very religious (in the traditional sense), so that’s out the window. I’m not saying that I don’t believe in marriage (although I won’t get married). I’m just saying that it’s not that big of a deal.

Shit, if people want to get married to their cats, dogs, gold-fish, what ever, I say let ’em.

  1. Yes i agree!! As long as its not hurting me or effecting my life then let it be…

  2. Respectfully….. It has everything to do with everyone, and the future of our country. Perhaps you may not have children, but if you do.. please consider that your children will be rubbing shoulders with the children that are growing up in these abnormal homes. Secondly, for the true Christian, it is an absolute abomination. Our Bible tells us clearly that those that participate in homosexuality as well as other sins will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Therefore it makes it our responsibility to not allow these sins to run rampant in our culture. We (True Christians, that understand and believe our Bible) have a charge to set the record straight.
